What role does black and white play and what role does color play in photographs?

In black and white photography, the goal is to focus on the essence of the subject we are photographing, so volumes, shadows, forms are called upon to define and characterize our subject, emphasizing it with the absolute visual monochrome we choose to present it. Color, on the other hand, helps us to tell the story more easily and to communicate with the one who sees it on an emotional level, but also to direct him to the point we want and consider important.
